As a Mom I’m always trying to make today better than yesterday. Setting new goals, always wanting to have more fun with my kids. Overall feel great about my life!
When my second Daughter came into the picture I found my days were not productive. I was scattered always trying to keep up. Till I decided a few months ago I was going to sit down and make a list. A list of things I’m going to try and do every morning before ten o’clock. I first wrote this down in my personal agenda, and as the days went by I would check off what I completed.
Don’t just be busy, be productive.
Why doing these things may help your productivity? You feel like something is being accomplished. You have satisfaction in your house. Reduced stress because things are being accomplished. It will help improve your motivation to get more things finished in a day. Increase your happiness because some tasks involve self care. So many positives come out of starting your day with these tasks.
Wake up and make the bed! Nothing gets my productive gears rolling like looking at a freshly made bed with the curtains open! And the best feeling at night is crawling into that beautiful looking bed.
Eat breakfast and have a coffee! Mom life can be pretty busy but one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself is start your day with a delicious breakfast. Aim for a high protein meal like eggs or yogurt, with healthy fats. This will help give you the energy you need for the day and keep you full longer. And everyone needs coffee, need I say more?
Get ready for the day! Nothing refreshes you like a warm shower. I will admit I don’t always have time to have a shower in the morning. But I aim to get dressed and do my hair, all while having a dance party with my Daughters to really get me energized. When I do have the opportunity for a morning shower I love to give myself a quick dry brush rub down before. It helps energize, improves circulation and can help tighten skin!
Do one load of laundry! Let’s face it moms, laundry is endless. There is always a pile of clothes somewhere in my house that need to be cleaned. Doing one load a day will help you stay on top of it.
Tidy up one room in the house! There have been some weeks in my house where every where you look there was a disaster. Since implementing this into my morning routine I have found this has definitely helped increase my daily productivity. But also gives me more time to have fun with my kids. I always get my daughters involved, my youngest usually plays with a wipe while my oldest helps put things away. We always sing our “clean up song”.
Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally. It comes from what you do consistently.
Now you don’t have to do these exact things. Think about your morning routine. What are somethings you do everyday that you maybe don’t notice. What’s your niche. Maybe loading the dishwasher, sweeping, wiping the counter etc. But I highly recommend making a list of atleast five things you want to do everyday before ten o’clock. To help improve your productive and satisfaction with yourself and home.
