With Valentine’s Day here! It’s fun to get in the craft mood. I know it’s easy to go to the store and buy Valentine’s cards, but making your own make your gift that much more special!
We made Valentine Pups this morning, and I think they are pretty cute! My Daughter was quite excited to be making dogs because they are one of her favourite. And she loves making crafts for her Grandparents, knowing that she is making these just for them, gets into the craft time.
I used a mix of construction paper and scrapping book paper that I had. We used the pattern paper for the ears and background to really help these pups stand out.
As you see there is quite a few craft Pom poms. We used white glue to start, but two fell off after they dried. So I suggest you use a hot glue gun so they stick from the start. Be extra cautious around kids, my Daughter is infatuated with the hot glue gun because it looks like a toy.
What you need….
- Three different colours of construction paper
- Two googly eyes
- Three Pom poms
To start you need to cut out one large heart and two smaller hearts (use a different colour for the ears). Glue the big heart down onto your paper base of choice. Next, glue the smaller hearts on either side of the large heart.
Next you need some googley eyes! Then glue the pom poms underneath. Don’t forget the tongue! We used red construction paper but you can always mix it up!
And that’s it! You can step this craft up a notch by adding dots and whiskers around the nose!
I know these are going to be a big hit! And Lily has already been practising her puppy noses for when we hand deliver them to the Grandparents!
