Beef + Broccoli Slaw Stir Fry

Summer is here! We have been so blessed to have hot days recently. And let me tell you, we are not wasting a drop of sunshine! Park dates, splash pads and lots of exploring. But these fun filled days have me feeling lazy when it comes to dinner.

Who wants to leave the sunshine and cook a hot meal? Not me! So I have this easy and fast meal that you will making all the time after this, I’m serious! It is deliciously savoury, and filled with nutrients. Asian inspired from the sesame oil and Worcestershire. But packed with goodness from the broccoli slaw. Last year I discovered Broccoli Cabbage by President’s Choice.

Grated broccoli, cabbage, carrot and red cabbage. It’s makes this meal guilt free! What I love the most is that it saves me so much time by already buying it shredded.

For this dish, you can add whatever vegetables you want. My go to is mushrooms, yellow pepper, onion and green onion. The choices are endless. Or you don’t have to add anything at all because of what is already in the coleslaw package. Making the meal perfect if you are trying to save money, or your fridge is a bit empty.

My main meat choice is beef, but I’ve used chicken or ground turkey before. No meat? Make it as a side dish. I love this when we do BBQ and roasted chicken. This dish is versatile in so many ways, I love it! Beef is primarily my main protein choice because I prefer the flavour it adds. Pairs nicely with the sesame oil and the salt.

So let’s get cooking!

Beef + Broccoli Slaw Stir Fry

  • 1 package Presidents Choice Broccoli Slaw
  • 1 white onion
  • 4 green onions
  • 4 mushrooms
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup chopped beef (I used flank steak)
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp EVOO
  • 1 tsp Worscetshkre Sauce
  • 1 tbsp of Soy sauce or more to taste

  1. Add Mushroom, white onion, garlic, chopped yellow pepper and both oils to a large fry pan. Sauté on high for 5 minutes.
  2. Add Beef, sauté for 3 minutes on high.
  3. Add slaw, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Cook covered on medium for 10 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
  4. Add more soy sauce if needed depending on your preference.

That’s it! It really is that easy! Make it fancy by topping it with some fresh green onion and serve!
