Hey Mom, rough day? Boost your mood!

Yesterday, Isla and I were up at four o’clock. Oh yeah, that’s in the morning! All thanks to a whining puppy and a baby who felt like being a part from Mom was the worst thing in the world!

A apart from being up early, having zero energy myself as the morning went on. Isla was not in a good mood. Extreme screaming, all day. Not to mention the sensitivity, to every little thing!

Motherhood is not always rainbows and butterflies. Hey! I’m not complaining…too much. But one thing I’ve learned is to not let that funk ruin your day. I know minimal sleep can make it hard. But don’t let a day go to waste because of factors you can’t control! Like a tired and sensitive baby

Let’s boost your spirit! Make the time for a nice hot morning shower. Get dressed, do your hair and makeup. Even if you have no where to go! Getting ready helps lift your energy, and gives you a positive satisfaction towards yourself! Nothing wrong with that!

There have been many days where I have lived off coffee and toddler leftovers. But today, make yourself a delicious breakfast! Something you love! Avocado toast, waffles and maple syrup. Even ice cream! I’m not judging (been there, done that a few times in my life!)

Girl, get moving! Chasing after kids is already like running a marathon. Especially when they have something they shouldn’t. Thanks for the pen artwork on the wall Isla! I will cherish that forever, because I couldn’t find my magic eraser! Do a workout, a stretch, some yoga or a morning walk. Something to get you moving and boost those endorphins.

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.— Elle Woods

Shoot their Husbands, want to torture their kids… same thing!

Give yourself time in the day to do something you love! A hobby like reading a book, art, writing, really anything! Something that makes you feel at peace and brings you happiness. May have talked to my Mom on the phone for an hour during nap time.

Plan something exciting for you and the kids! Make last minute plans for a play date, a zoo trip or the library. Something you know the kids will be excited about when you say “Hey! Let’s do this…” I don’t know about you, but I love getting out with the fam jam. Making memories and having fun. Plus it usually tires everyone out, making for a good night sleep (Hopefully! Please do not quote me on this!)

Well there you have it! Five things you can do to help boost your spirit on the toughest days. Motherhood is hard, it’s as simple as that. But don’t forget to make yourself a priority, and focus on your own happiness!
